A 55-year-old woman visited her doctor concerned about a mildly pruritic rash that had developed on her trunk and arms over the past few weeks. On examination, multiple erythematous, fine, scaly plaques were seen. The coin-like plaques were round or oval in configuration and affected her extremities symmetrically. The patient was currently not on any medications. She shared that since the recent start of the winter season, she had been taking longer and more frequent bubble baths to help provide some relief from colder temperatures, and she wondered if this may have contributed to the onset of these lesions. She had no personal or family history of previous atopy or other dermatologic conditions and reported no systemic symptoms.
