Lily L., a pediatrician, shares her story about using VisualDx to diagnose her visiting best friend.
“My best friend was visiting from out of town and randomly mentioned he had a wart on his finger that wasn’t getting better. I took a look at it and it looked nothing like a wart, but I wasn’t sure what it was. I plugged it in to visual dx- 20-30 yo male, healthy, well, with a single red, painless papule on his finger. The third result down was pyogenic granuloma and I knew I had hit the jackpot. I’d seen it once before in residency and had forgotten to include it in my differential diagnosis. I told him to seek a dermatologist to have it removed. I followed up with him in a month and told him the dermatologist had confirmed the diagnosis!”
