VisualDx improves diagnostic accuracy by 34% among primary care doctors when handling skin conditions. This is according to a study conducted by Leo Innovation Lab and the German Association of Dermatological Prevention that has been recently published in PLOS One.
The study also found that patients felt more involved in the decision-making process when VisualDx was used: 83% of patients that were shown images replied they felt better supported in the consultation. Not only does diagnostic accuracy increase substantially with the use of digital tools to support diagnosing, but patients are also more satisfied with the consultations when their primary care doctors actively use such a tool.
Physicians using VisualDx at the point of care also made fewer specialist referrals than those who didn’t utilize VisualDx: 62% versus 75%, respectively.
