A 22-year-old man enlisted in the military was undergoing some additional training when he visited the doctor for treatment of a fine scaly plaque on his face.
It had started as an annular, pruritic, erythematous lesion and was now starting to get a little bit of crusting on the border.
He was always clean-shaven with a short military brush cut, so he could see that he did not have any other lesions on his head.
They had recently been practicing hand-to-hand combat, so he had been in close contact doing maneuvers and wrestling with other soldiers.
Is it rosacea, tinea faciei, psoriasis, or allergic contact dermatitis?
